Teacher Preparation Legislation Introduced -- S.493 / H.R. 1156
Legislation has been introduced to amend the Higher Education Act (HEA) to help prepare new teachers to recognize and meet the unique needs of gifted and talented students.
Funding for the Javits Program in Fiscal Year 2006
Although the House of Representatives did not include any funds for the Javits program in its 2006 education funding bill, the Senate Appopriations Committee included $11 million in its version of the bill.
The full Senate must approve the bill and then the House and Senate must negotiate on the differences. Click here to read more.
